Paracetamol.

By: Peemil.

I read Savage Love everyweek. For those of you underneath a rock with cotton in your ears, he is a sex advice columnist.

Even though, I sometime disagree with his overly pragmatic view on human relationships, he is for the most part, a sane and sensible chap.

One of his pet causes is the slow erosion of "Straight rights," by right-wing Christian conservatives. Namely those rights associated with contraception and sexual activity.

My blood boils when I hear the shit he descibes. Pharmacists not dispensing the morning after pill for rape victims, Christian groups that would rather see people with genital warts than immunized against them, and the general encroachment on people's rights to choose when and where they will conceive a child.

One of the blessings of this modern world is that we need not have children until we are ready. Given the state of this world and the expense in raising them, it is a small relief that everytime you jump in the honey pot, you don't have to worry about getting your missus up the duff and adding to the six other children who are already running around the house.

Savage Love is right. Straight rights are being eroded and it's about time the lot of us, who aren't so puritanical and closed minded, stood up to this small group of ignorant fools and told them in no uncertain terms, to go fuck themselves.

If you are an American, and according to my stats, a lot of you are, you shouldn't have to put up with this shit. Go and do something.

You can read Savage Love's opinion about the situation near the bottom of this article, and this one here, both under "Straight rights update."
